Use Analytics to Amplify Your Brand & Internet Business

Find out how I use analytics throughout my day and the benefits it has on both my business and online brand.

Numbers…

They can be very scary at times.

But if you understand how to ACTUALLY read them…

They are POWERFUL!

Here are 4 steps I use analytics throughout my day to grow my online brand and how you can start, too:

Where I Find Social Analytics:

Depending on the platform, I find specific tools more helpful than others when it comes to analytics that help tremendously:

Example of Taplio Analytics

I highly recommend the apps I used above, but everyone is different and you might find different software to help you more, depending on your goals for each platform.

Now that you know where to find analytics, we can get into the fun stuff.

Understanding Key Metrics:

The next important step is actually understanding what each of the ‘Key Metrics’ mean and how they will apply to your online growth.

Here are the main metrics I track:

  • Reach: Amount of unique users that saw your post

  • Engagement: Likes, comments, shares, or clicks your post received

  • Follower growth: New followers you gained

  • Conversion rate: Amount of people that completed a desired action, such as making a purchase or signing up for a newsletter

Now, remember…

Don’t get carried away with crazy goals or unrealistic approaches that will disappoint you when they aren’t achieved right away.

For example, if you tell yourself you want to hit a minimum of 50 likes per post and some days you get 20, maybe 15, you’ll be pretty disappointed.

Instead, you’d want to make a goal like: “I want to teach 5 new people today about new AI technology.”

Analyze & Interpret Your Analytics:

It’s important to regularly review your content after posting it.

Here is my process that you can use:

  1. Create your post (LinkedIn, Twitter, etc)

  2. Engage w/ comments for the first 45 minutes (ask questions, lift people up, agree with what’s said, or do what you normally do)

  3. If you are like me, I post 3x on Twitter and 2x on LinkedIn daily

  4. After several days of posting content, I check my analytics and see how I did for the week

In order to improve based on your metrics, this will help:

  • Didn’t get a lot of comments? Make your content more engaging. Ask questions. Be more relatable. Urge your audience to respond by using strong CTAs (Call to Actions).

  • Lots of impressions, but no engagement? Create more interactive content. Quality over quantity. Create visuals for your posts. Use CTAs. Find when your audience is most active. Not an overnight process, consistency will help with this.

  • Need more profile views? Give a reason for your audience to click on your profile. This could be from powerful CTAs, a new offer, or simply asking for your audience to follow for new content.

Remember, consistency will be your best friend.

Looking at metrics won’t help as much after your first week as much as it will your first month.

Consistency is key. Quality over quantity.

Apply & Adjust Your Findings:

Now that you have a better idea how to use analytics, it’s time to actually apply them.

I touched base on them in the last section as well, so let’s dive in a bit deeper.

You can filter your metrics for different amounts of days:

  • 7 days

  • 30 days

  • 90 days

  • Custom Amount

Review each of the filters and use the steps I provided about to understand what you are doing right…

But also what you are doing wrong.

Adjust accordingly.

Keep trying new methods.

Don’t tire yourself out.

Consistency is the way to win. Just look above if you don’t believe me.

And remember, this is a TIME game.

Keep experimenting, and remember, social media is a dynamic space and requires continuous learning and adaptation.

Hope you enjoyed this system,

Alex
