Breaking Down My Recent Viral Post

How to write content that gets you $$, not just likes.

I’ve been posting every single day on LinkedIn for the past two years.

If you’re struggling to get leads, likes, or even simple engagement on your posts, then 99% of the time, it’s because of how you write.

Let’s fix that.

I obtained nearly ~500 emails from a recent post of mine:

The strange part was the vanity metrics were normal.

  • 2 Reposts

However, the real purpose of this post was to obtain emails, which is precisely what I did in the first 48 hours. Here are a few things to note before I break this post down:

  1. I posted this at 7 AM Central Time.

  2. I engaged with all of the comments.

  3. I reached out to 15-20 people who commented.

  4. I reposted this post at 8 PM Central Time.

If you use the strategies I’m about to share with you, you’ll have what you need to start creating viral content on LinkedIn:

The Hook

My LinkedIn organically brings in 100s of leads from daily content (you can do it, too). Here's the 3-step lead generation technique I've used for the past six months:

The Post Hook

There are a few rules I utilize in every post hook that I create:

  1. Use numbers. → “100s of leads” & "six months"

  2. Showcase an audience struggle. → “leads from daily content”

  3. Prove your solution. → “3-step lead generation technique”

  4. Be personal. → “My LinkedIn organically”

I ensured that this post would be highly relatable (and helpful) if you’re struggling to get leads on LinkedIn but post daily organic content on the platform.

The Post Body

1) Find an audience with a problem.
2) Break down how you solve the problem.
3) Give away a free solution.

If you want to start applying this right away, here's what I'd recommend:

• Find creators struggling to grow.
• Build a free lead magnet (video course).
• Give it away for free on LinkedIn.
You can even send email content (PDFs, videos, etc).

If you're subscribed to my email list, you'll notice I do that frequently.

Free Daily Content → Email List (Sign Ups) → Organic Leads (Prospects) -> $$$

This requires 0 paid ads.

Treat every post you create on LinkedIn as its lead magnet (free product).

• Find a problem.
• Create an easy solution.
• Give it away for free.

It's never been this easy to promote yourself online.

Take advantage of that.

The Post Body

There aren’t many specific “rules” that I use when it comes to the body of each LinkedIn post, but there are a few things to keep in mind:

  1. All bullet points or numbered lists are less than 35 characters long.

  2. No sentences exceed two lines on mobile devices.

  3. The copy should be highly skimmable (not blocky).

  4. My audience should have 2-3 takeaways from every post.

Right below the hook of this post, I added two lists.

The first is straightforward, actionable tips to get more traction and attention on the platform. Then, I use the “time-sensitive” framework, which gets my audience to start using these systems immediately.

“If you want to start applying this right away” → “then do this:”

The next part of this post goes even further, and I go even further into detail that there are more systems you can use to get clients on LinkedIn.

“you can even [action to take” → “to get [outcome]”

One of my favorite things to add to my posts is frameworks, outlines, or step-by-step strategies that can easily be copied. Below, you’ll find a screenshot of my workflow from Free Daily Content to $$$.

I go on to add another bullet point list (three total in this post), which goes back to the start of this post:

Do [action], then do [action], and finally do [action] to get [outcome].

No two posts of mine are the same (unless I am repurposing the same post over a period of time). I find templates super overrated and not as organic as just writing posts from scratch.

The CTA

For the last 4-6 months, I've been building out my 2025 systems (much different than this past year).

Everything is bundled up into the Accelerator Program. Join the VIP access (waitlist) here today: https://lnkd.in/g5vh3ZXE

The CTA

Each LinkedIn post you create should have one key purpose.

The purpose of this post was to capture emails and get my audience enrolled in my VIP waitlist for The Accelerator Program.

Here are a few rules I used for this CTA:

  1. Urgency. → “Join the VIP access (waitlist) here today”

  2. Numbers. → “4-6 months” & “2025 systems”

  3. Curiosity. → “Much different than this past year”

Never ask your audience for too many things at once.

Want likes? Ask for them.
Want reposts? Ask for them.
Want emails? Use a lead magnet.

Start practicing these systems the next time you write a post on LinkedIn. I can’t recommend enough to post consistently (5-7 times/week).
