What I've Learned from $129,450 in Course Sales
I launched my first course in 2018 - this was the beginning:

Alright - Let’s Innovate:
I launched my first course in 2018 (Twitch Course)
I made roughly ~$3,400 after the first month.
Results were much lower than I expected.
With that being said - I’ve learned a LOT over the past 5 years.
Here we go:
Building in Public:
When I began building out my first offers online - I did it all “behind the scenes”.
I wasn’t posting about the process.
I wasn’t sharing videos on what I was working on.
Or anything like that.
The results? ~$3,400 after the first month.
I spent 3 months building my new course, The Growth OS, totally in public.
The results? ~$16,050 after the first month.
That’s a 4.72x increase in sales.
We just reached 230 creators taking my new course!
I promised I'd build this course in public - which means I'll be sharing analytics along the way.
Here's the first 2 weeks:
- 232 Sales
- $10,804 Gross VolumeExciting to see everyone joining the private community as well!

Utilize Social Proof:
Posting stories from your customers is another GREAT way to get more sales.
It also gives you more credibility and builds trust.
Every week, I post a testimonial on X + LinkedIn.
I’ll even drop a discount code for a select few customers.
The more success stories you share - the more success you’ll see.
Make Your Course Accessible:
If you haven’t read my previous article - find it here.
I went over exactly how to price your digital products.
If you have a low following while selling a course for $500 - it will be extremely difficult to sell to a large number of customers.
You’d need quite a bit of credibility - which you probably don’t have (yet).
Consider the following:
Affordable Price
Word of Mouth
Affiliate Program
I’d recommend making your course accessible to as many people as possible.
Perfect example of a happy customer:
Give First, Ask Later:
Just like my rule for posting content: 80% Engage - 20% Post.
Do the same for promoting: 80% Give - 20% Ask.
Most of your content should be providing value.
The rest can be to promote your products.
The best way to “ask” is to showcase the following:
Testimonials
Client Stories
Success Stories
I post ~105 times on X every month.
I post ~31 times on LinkedIn every month.
I share 15-20 success stories each month.
I’m staying in between that 10% - 20% of “asking” range.
Be Concise:
One of the most important aspects of your course:
Get people through it - quickly.
Most people don’t have time to sit through a 10-hour course.
Remove the fluff.
Get people through the course in 45-60 minutes.
If current customers are happy - they are highly likely to purchase future products from you.
Your job isn’t over after you get a new sale.
Cheers,
Alex
