The strategy I use for building online digital products is highly underrated.

I see a lot of advice, tutorials, courses, and coaching programs on the internet that teach this, but nothing as good as how I approach mine.

Here’s my straightforward, no bullsh*t method:

The Right Offer for You:

An offer solves your ICP’s (ideal customer profile) challenges, eventually leading them to financial gain.

I aim to benefit as many creators and entrepreneurs as possible.

Here are four things to consider:

  • Eliminate the guesswork.

  • Create an offer that has market demand.

  • Design an offer that would positively impact people.

  • Be upfront with everything you are offering.

When I build my paid products/services online, I make sure I’m targeting the specific audience for which I create content. I also make sure the content in my paid offers is a solution to their problems.

Don’t create something that no one needs.

Now let’s go through the creation process:

Creation Process:

I begin by addressing a “narrow” problem using a lead magnet.

This gets my prospects intrigued by my offer and hints them towards a larger solution (the paid offer).

Here are a few lead magnets I’ve used myself:

  • Free online guides.

  • Video courses.

  • Email courses.

Use your lead magnet to build trust and authority. Collecting data through your free lead magnets is crucial before you start selling your paid offer.

I’d also recommend running polls or surveys at the end of your lead magnet to collect the following:

  • What your audience enjoyed.

  • What they still need help with.

  • What their main struggle is.

The more you understand your audience, the easier it is to sell.

For example, my lead magnet is a free video course. At the end of the course, I have a 30-second survey that helps me understand more about what my audience needs help with. I use this information to update my video course, coaching program, and client services.

Data Analysis:

I direct my audience to my email capture landing page on every platform.

Instead of directing new sign-ups to a “thank you” page, direct them to something that provides you value:

  • Survey Page (multiple choice is easiest)

  • Typeform Application (open-ended questions)

  • Poll

I find creating, scaling, and selling my online products much easier when I know my customer aspirations, demographics, and solution preferences.

For example, if a recent survey I created shows me that most of my audience doesn’t like online courses, then it’s probably best not to sell one.

Next, let’s build the offer from the data we collected:

I can build a product/service tailored to my audience’s preferences and exact needs with the data collected.

Here are some of the paid products I’d recommend creating:

  • Video Course

  • Video/Text Guides

  • Templates/Scripts

  • Books

For my most recent product, I created a video course. This was the perfect solution to showcase my systems that solve my audience’s problems.

If you decide to create something like a video course, build modules that provide solutions to the problems you’ve collected. Use data to your advantage.
