The DM System I Use to Land New Clients
How I Built a 5-Step Outbound System That Consistently Lands Clients

Everyone is getting DMs or outbound messages on LinkedIn wrong.
They’re either:
Sending cold pitches that seem extremely desperate.
Or wait for leads to “discover” them on their own.
Both lose.
Today, I’m showing you the exact outbound system I use that generates leads, builds relationships, and turns cold connections into high-ticket clients—without ever feeling wrong.
Go through this post. Analyze it. Copy it. And take action.
Here we go 👇🏻
Why Most Cold DMs Fall Flat
Before I built this system, I was doing what most people do:
Sending messages with no context.
Chasing people who never replied.
Hoping someone would ask what I do.
People aren’t actually “anti-DM”. They’re anti-lazy-outreach.
If you're reaching out to strangers without:
Clear positioning.
Relevance to their actual goals.
A human-first approach.
You will be ignored 99.9999% of the time.
So, I built a different system—one based on earning attention, rather than demanding it.
My 5-Part Outbound/DM System (Steal This)
I call it: The Quiet Close Method
It’s how I book calls with ideal clients every week—with DMs that feel like conversations, not cold calls.
Here’s the full breakdown:
1. Profile Positioning
Before sending a single DM, I made sure my profile did 3 things:
Spoke to one clear audience.
Offered one clear transformation.
Made it obvious why I’m credible.
Your DM is the cold open. Your profile is the landing page.
If your profile doesn't convert silent readers into curious prospects, nothing else matters.

2. Connection Filtering
I don’t connect with everyone.
I use a simple filter:
Can I help this person now or in the future?
Do they already signal the kind of problems I solve?
If yes, I connect.
If not, I move on.
Quality > volume. Every time.
3. Relevance-Based DM Entry
In this step, I never focus on pitches. Or “quick wins.” Or paragraphs.
Instead, I start with something that proves I actually paid attention:
Examples:
“Saw your post about [topic]—curious how that’s going?”
“Noticed you help [audience] with [service]. Ever had clients struggle with [common challenge]?”
“You’re doing some clean work in [space]. Mind if I ask what’s working best for lead gen right now?”
Be Real. Short. Specific.
The goal here is to get replies WITHOUT feeling automated.

4. Mini Diagnostic
Once the convo starts, I move to what I call a “mini diagnostic.”
My goal isn’t to sell—it’s to understand.
I’ll ask 2-3 questions like:
“What’s your client pipeline look like right now?”
“What are you doing content-wise to get leads?”
“Is it working, or just keeping you busy?”
People want to talk about their problems. But only when you stop treating them like a lead and start treating them like a friend.

5. Permission-Based Pivot
If the pain is there, I pivot. But I always get permission first:
Example: “Would it be helpful if I showed you the system I use to [insert result]?”
If they say yes? I send a quick Loom, or suggest a short call.
That’s all I do. No pitch decks. No pressure.
No weird “what time works for you” conversation.

The Results
This system has booked me nine qualified calls in the last 30 days—and I’m now working with seven of them at my content agency.
Even better: I’m not exhausted.
I’m not spending hours in outreach hell. And I’m not chasing anyone.
It works because it’s human, structured, and scalable.
Want to Build This DM System for Your Business?
Inside my private community, I walk members through how to:
Position themselves for inbound AND outbound.
Build their own message flows that start convos naturally.
Install simple DM pipelines that bring 5–10 qualified leads a week.
We even share the exact scripts, message templates, and Loom breakdowns that land deals.
If you're tired of hoping content brings leads, and want a system that works even when engagement is low...
