Alright, Let’s Innovate:
A free product is important for 3 reasons:
You’ll gain more credibility.
You’ll gain trust over other creators.
You’ll be able to upsell later on.
If you don’t build a free product:
Your audience doesn’t know if your products are even good.
It’ll be much harder to gain the trust and respect of prospects.
You miss out on tons of new email subscribers.
Here’s how to build a profitable free product:
Pick a Free Product:
I’ve tested over 6 free products in the past 5 years. Here are my top 3 that have performed the best:
Free Email Course
Free Templates
Free Video Content
I’ve found that the more simple your free product is, the more your audience will enjoy it. No one wants to spend all day going through a free product from a creator they don’t even know.
Make it simple.
Make it easy to consume.
Make it short.
Your free product should be a “quick win” for whoever completes it.
Choose a Platform + Automate:
You’ll want to choose a platform that allows you to automate 100% of the work after you’ve built the product.
Here’s my tech stack:
The free product I deliver to my new subscribers is a free 5-day email course. It consists of 5 emails throughout 5 days. Straight value, no bs.
Here’s how it works:
Email Submitted Trigger: When someone goes to my landing page and submits their email in exchange for the 5-day free course, they are automatically entered into the automation.

Email Content (Day 1): After my audience is entered into the automation, they receive day 1 of the course. It’s a 2-3 minute read.

Time Delay: After each day of the course, I added a 1-day time delay. This means if you received the first email at 8:00 AM on Friday, you’ll receive the next one at 8:00 AM on Saturday.

Then the process repeats until the end of the course.
Upsell Paid Offers:
Your free product should be the basic version of your paid offer.
If your paid offer is an online course that helps creators with their video content, then make your free product about creating video content.
In your free product, mention to your audience that if they pick up your paid course, they can get:
Your full system to creating video content that converts.
Your full system to capturing leads through video content.
Your full system to grow a massive following using video content.
Remember, value comes first.
Innovative Action Plan:
Here’s a step-by-step checklist to begin creating your free product:
Pick which type of product to create.
Sign up for automation software (like Beehiiv).
Build out the content of your free product, then automate the process in which your audience receives it.
Upsell your paid offers.
Use analytics to determine what’s working and what isn’t.
For my full system, grab The Growth OS. I’ll refund you 100% of your investment if you’re not completely satisfied.
Cheers to creating your next free product,
Alex
