  • Featured Section

  • Action Plan

Alright, Let’s Innovate:

If you are not taking LinkedIn seriously yet, it’s time to start today.

I've been a self-learner for 9 years now:

  • I test a LOT of different things.

  • I practice a LOT of writing.

  • I re-evaluate a LOT of my content.

Here’s exactly what to do to optimize your LinkedIn for 2024:

Profile Banner + Picture:

The first thing people see on your profile is:

  • Your profile picture.

  • Your profile banner.

Let’s start with your profile banner. Here’s a breakdown of what I’m using and why it’s converting 125x higher than my previous designs:

Main Headline: I sell my audience on exactly what to expect if they follow my content every day. “Create, Monetize, & Scale Your Content”. I use my gradient color scheme on the words I 100% want my audience to see first.

Small Headline: This is the text right below the main headline. It’s the same headline I use on my actual profile. “I help creators & entrepreneurs write effective, engaging content that generates sales.” If someone is struggling with creating content with a purpose, they’re most likely sold just from my profile banner.

Button CTA: Now it’s time to showcase an action your audience can take after reading your headlines. “Click the link below to join.” If they are ready to start taking action, the link to my free 5-day email course is in my bio.

Top Left CTA: Just in case they are ready to go further, I have the “Check out my Featured section” text in the top left. This is where all of my paid and free offers are.

For your profile picture, you must keep the same color scheme so your profile flows smoothly from top to bottom.

Do’s:

  • High Quality

  • Full Face + Upper Body

  • Brand Colors

  • Shadow Effect

  • Good Lighting

Don’ts:

  • Selfies

  • Low Quality

  • Random Colors

  • Full Body Shots

There are two options for your profile headline:

  • Keep it overly simple (1 sentence).

  • Be more specific and showcase social proof (2-3 sentences).

Here’s my profile headline:

“I help creators & entrepreneurs start, grow, and monetize a 1-person online business through organic content. Over 1,500 customers served & 42M impressions driven for clients.”

First, I tell my audience exactly who I help. If you are a creator or entrepreneur, you’re sold.

Next, I showcase what exactly I do to help entrepreneurs and creators. If you want to start, grow, and monetize your online business, you're sold once again.

Lastly, I provide social proof. The number of customers I’ve served and an estimate of the impressions I’ve driven for my clients.

Below your headline is extremely important. The link in bio. This is how you’ll capture 80% of your audience’s emails.

Use a free product (lead magnet) to get your audience interested in seeing what you have to offer. I use a free 5-day email course to capture emails.

My CTA looks like this: “How I Turn Content into Cash”. I change this often to test the results every 1-2 months. You can use UTM parameters to do the same.

I get a significant amount of traffic to my landing pages every day just from my LinkedIn featured section. It’s the perfect spot to plug your free and paid offers directly into your profile.

I use the same font, formatting, and design on each of my featured items.

The key here is consistency.

Innovative Action Plan:

Here's how to take advantage of LinkedIn to succeed in 2024:

  • Create a banner that converts.

  • Use a high-quality profile picture.

  • Sell your audience on what you do in your profile headline.

  • Use a link in bio and CTA to capture emails.

  • Plug your paid and free offers in your featured section.

  • Experiment and constantly make changes to improve.

Once you do this, you’re ready to start creating content.
