Alright, Let’s Innovate:

A considerable part of the success of an online course is the hype and promotion behind it before it launches.

If you don’t build a strategy to start, build, launch, and scale your online course or digital product:

  • You’ll waste weeks/months of your time.

  • You’ll make $0 (or very little) on the launch.

  • You’ll lose your confidence in future launches.

None of which you want after so much hard work and dedication.

Your product needs hype, a strategy, and a proper launch.

Choose Your Topic:

The first thing you should do before even starting your digital product is figure out these two things:

  • What are you passionate about?

  • What are you knowledgeable about?

Write down the answer to these questions.

If you aren’t able to talk about your chosen topic for 30+ minutes without preparation, you don’t know enough about it.

I could sit down for 6+ hours in a call and help someone build their entire brand from start to finish. I could help build out entire monetization funnels to start making money online.

The list keeps going.

Find what you can talk about nonstop for hours on end.

Create the Outcome:

You still aren’t ready to create your product yet.

This is the mistake most creators make. They find a topic and start building a course on it without any strategy behind the outcome of the product.

  • Why should someone buy your course?

  • What problem are you solving?

  • What will they get out of it?

  • What’s in it for them?

Keep it simple.
Keep it specific.

Showcase the benefits and outcomes of your product.

If you skip this step, you aren’t going to get far.

Build a Presell Strategy:

Now that you’ve figured out:

  • Your preferred topic.

  • The benefits + outcomes of the product.

You’re ready to build a presell strategy.

When I launched The Growth OS in August, I spent three months building an email list (waitlist) for the official launch.

Why?

Email is the easiest way to communicate with your audience, especially those who want to be the first to purchase your product.

Promote on the following channels:

  • Social media (X, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc).

  • Your email list.

  • Your community.

This can be in the form of:

  • Time Crucial Announcements

  • Daily / Weekly Reminders

  • Last Chance Opportunities

Give yourself 30-90 days before the launch is live.

Build the Product:

If you’ve completed the steps above, you’ve completed the hard part.

Now you need to build the actual offer.

Here are three platforms I’ve used and tested myself:

Once you’ve picked your platform, here’s what you’ll need next:

  • Product Name

  • Product Description

  • Product Price (low, medium, or high ticket)

I use Photoshop for all designs for my content, products, services, you name it.

If you don’t have Adobe products, go for something like Canva.

Remember to build email sequences to ensure your customers, waitlisted users, and anyone else who’s subscribed to your email list is kept in the loop with updates, changes, etc.

Create a Landing Page:

Your landing page is the last thing you’ll need to publish your paid product.

For my landing page, I use Typedream. This isn’t sponsored; I enjoy the platform and the features they have to offer.

I’d highly recommend building a simple one-pager that showcases your product's outcome, provides social proof, and is easy to check out.
