Alright, Let’s Innovate:

Over the past nine months, I’ve been surveying everyone who joins my newsletter. Here are the results:

  • ~40% of you who are subscribed say growing your brand and getting leads is the biggest challenge.

  • ~70% of you who are subscribed are using LinkedIn as your primary (go-to) platform.

In today’s post, I’ll discuss strategies to grow my brand and business on LinkedIn.

Strategy #1: Become a Commenter

One of the best ways to rapidly grow is to become a “reply guy.” Simply put, this person comments and engages on the platform often.

On LinkedIn, this strategy works incredibly well.

  1. Create a list of 5-10 creators.

  2. List the posting times of every creator.

  3. When they post, be the first to comment.

  4. Create one comment for the post and another 4-5 comments for the other post replies.

Ensure the posts you engage with are within your niche (if you post LinkedIn growth tips, don’t reply to posts about astronomy).

But here's the key: “Agree, Justin! The sky is blue!” doesn’t count.

Your comments should include the following:

  • Bold opinions.

  • Valuable insights.

  • Questions.

  • Examples of experiences.

It isn’t always easy to stay consistent when creating comments, but it’ll be 100% worth it in the long term.

Try this formula I use to create comments efficiently:

  1. Create a compliment on each post.

  2. Using your insights, expand on the overall point.

  3. Ask a question to get more replies.

The more replies, the better your comment will perform and the more people it’ll reach.

Most importantly, make your profile tagline short. When someone looks at your profile, they should be able to see exactly what you offer within your short tagline. Otherwise, you’ll miss out on potential customers.

Strategy #2: Collab & Interview

One of my favorite methods to grow on LinkedIn is through collaborations, otherwise known as “micro-interviews.”

To do this, you can reach out to creators and ask them to create a collab post (one post, tagging the other creator). This is a straightforward way to farm engagement and steal customers from different creators.

By doing this, you’ll:

  • Provide loads of value to your audience.

  • Create extra content that both audiences can binge on.

  • Grow rapidly on the platform.

You’ll notice many large creators on LinkedIn do this exceptionally well.

Being relevant = quick growth.

If you want to stay on top of trends and popular topics, the best thing to do is set the following:

  • Google Alerts for Industry Topics

  • Twitter/X Trending Section

When significant events or popular topics become known in your niche, you’ll be among the first to hear about them.

The more popular a topic is, the more potential engagement you can get.

Strategy #4: Showcase Bold Opinions

One of my favorite types of posts/comments is bold opinions.

Most people online get tired of average content because all they read is boring, old, and recycled content. No one wants to read that.

Here’s what I recommend:

  1. Find a popular opinion once a week that you disagree with.

  2. Write a post that challenges the opinion while sharing your own.

My top posts on both LinkedIn and X are controversial and provide views on my bold opinions.

You can use a simple template that I’ve used over the last six months:

  • Showcase the usual perspective.

  • Showcase your unpopular opinion.

  • Explain why in 3-5 points.

  • Ask questions (for engagement).

The more you debate, the more engagement you’ll receive, and the quicker you’ll grow.

Your 30 Day Challenge:

With these four strategies in mind, you can now build a system that works for all your social media channels (especially LinkedIn).

Once you’ve done that, here’s my challenge to you:

Track your follower growth and impressions for the next 30 days.

  1. How does your growth compare to the previous 30 days?

  2. What has worked the best?

  3. What hasn’t been working?

Make adjustments as you go, and never stop improving.

TL;DR:

Now that you’ve gone through the full post, here’s what to do next:

  1. Become a “reply guy” and post comments daily.

  2. Run collaborations with other creators on the platform.

  3. Take advantage of popular topics and trending ideas.

  4. Showcase your bold opinions and ask questions for maximum engagement.

  5. Keep track of your growth and determine what to improve on.

I’ll see you next Wednesday!

Cheers,

Alex
