  • Create Micro Ideas

  • How it Works

  • TL;DR

Alright, Let’s Innovate:

99% of creators online are facing the same problem:

Finding time to create enough content for your audiences (and on multiple platforms).

I’ve consistently posted on LinkedIn, X, and Instagram every day. I know the struggle. If you want the algorithm to like you, you cannot miss days of posting.

So, here’s what I can tell you:

Work smart.
Work efficiently.

As creators, we are rewarded by the results of which our content produces, not by the hours spent creating the content. Today, I’m going to show you the method I use to turn one piece of content into 15 separate posts

Here we go:

Basics of Content Splintering

I call this method “Content Splintering”. You begin by creating one piece of content and then extracting smaller ideas from the main topic. From there, you can turn the smaller ideas into micro issues.

There isn’t a specific type of content for each stage, so use your imagination depending on what you post.

Create the “Main” Content

To get started, create one piece of content that goes deep into the subject relevant to your audience. Here are a few examples:

  • Newsletter Edition

  • YouTube Video

  • In-Dept X (Twitter) Thread

Be sure that the topic you discuss is broad enough to be broken down.

For example: “A 7-Step Guide to Launching Your Digital Agency.”

Creating this will be the first step in building the entire content system. Once you’ve completed this step, it’s time to extract additional ideas.

Extract Ideas from the “Main” Content

This is where you’ll begin extracting 3-5 main concepts from your main content. The concepts you extract should be significant enough to be further explored.

If we continue with the “Digital Agency” example, here’s what the extracted ideas may look like:

  1. Finding your agency idea.

  2. Expanding your team.

  3. Effective pricing strategies.

  4. Building the agency services.

From there, we’ll begin creating the “Micro Ideas.”

Create “Micro Ideas” from the Extracted Ones

Now that we have the main idea broken down into several more ideas, we can begin extracting the “Micro Ideas.” Here’s what that looks like:

  1. Write down the “Micro Ideas.”

  2. Turn each idea into a small piece of content.

  3. Post on various social media platforms.

Here’s what I’d do with each “Micro Idea”:

  • 2x LinkedIn Posts

  • 1x X (Twitter) Post

  • 1x Carousel Post

  • 1x Short-Form (Vertical) Video Post

Remember, this step is entirely up to you. Create what works for your audience. If something isn’t working, fix it. If things are working, don’t get too comfortable.

TL;DR:

Now that you’ve gone through the full post, here’s what to do next:

  1. Creating one piece of “Main Content.”

  2. Break down the “Main Content” into additional topics.

  3. Break down those topics into “Micro Ideas.”

  4. Turn each “Micro Idea” into smaller pieces of content.

  5. Repeat the process with what works best.

I’ll see you next Wednesday!

Cheers,

Alex
