Leads don’t want to be hunted.
They want to be attracted.
If your content isn’t bringing people into your DMs, you’re just posting noise online that no one notices (sorry for the brutal truth).
Here’s the system that flips my content into warm leads in 7 days.
The System: 7-Day Comment → Content → Conversation Workflow
Day 1–2: Comment (Visibility & Positioning)
Identify 10–15 prospects (use LinkedIn search or look at who’s engaging with your competitors).
Leave specific comments that add value or perspective. Example: instead of “great post”, say “Love how you framed [X]. We’ve seen the same challenge with [Y]. Curious, have you tried [Z]?”
Goal: Get 2+ of them to reply to or like your comment. This signals they noticed you.
Day 3–4: Content (Reinforce Expertise)
Publish 1–2 posts that tie into the exact pain points you commented on.
Example: if you commented on “struggling with lead quality,” your post could be “Most people think low lead quality is a marketing issue. In reality, it starts with X.”
Make sure to use their language (mirror the phrases you saw in their posts).
Pro tip: End with an open-ended question to spark engagement, e.g. “How are you tackling this in your company right now?”
Goal: At least 2–3 prospects see you twice (comment + post).
Day 5–6: Engage (Build Trust & Familiarity)
Reply to every comment on your post with more than a thank you. Ask a follow-up question or add some insights (can be simple).
Go back to your 10–15 prospects → re-engage on their posts again. This creates the “familiar face” effect.
Example of a re-engagement comment: “That point you made about [topic] ties perfectly with what we discussed earlier this week. Curious, how do you handle [related pain point]?”
Goal: Your name now feels familiar, like a colleague (not a stranger).
Day 7: Conversation (DM Warm-Up, Zero Pitch)
Choose 3–5 prospects who’ve engaged with you in some way (liked, commented, replied).
Slide into DMs with a personalized, no-pitch message. Example: “Hey [Name], really enjoyed your post on [topic] this week. It reminded me of something I’ve seen with [X]. Out of curiosity, how are you approaching [specific challenge]?”
Important: Keep it conversational. The goal is to start a chill, normal convo, not pitch. If they open up, then you can transition later.
Goal: 1–2 real conversations started.
That’s it → Comment. Content. Engage. Conversation.
Quick Win — Do This Today
Pick 5 prospects.
Leave 1 detailed comment each today (not fluff).
Tomorrow, publish a short post directly tied to one of their pain points.
Watch how fast familiarity builds when you show up in their world twice in 48 hours.
Repeat this process every week. Double down on what works.
